The LackeyCCG [and Collectible Card Game] Appreciation Thread
« on: September 14, 2008, 08:33:20 pm »
LackeyCCG is yet another in a long string of programs that allow people to play CCGs on the interwebz. It has it's goods [use of full size card art, pretty robust features, and still in active development] and the bad [it can run a little slow--the text entry is laggy by a second or so, and the using full size card art means it takes up a bit of space], but overall I like it better than anything else I've tried.

And since I've dragged RPG into playing with me, I might as try and drag anyone else in.

At the moment I mostly only play Pokémon TCG [since I made the plugin for it], and I'm also interested in learning, in order, UFS, The Unauthorized Dr. Who CCG (which I also made the plugin for), and VS System.

There are also other games for it, and I know a bunch of you play Magic although chances are you aren't likely to switch over to Lackey.

But yeah, if anyone wants to play any of these games with me, or find other people to play any other games available for it here, then post here.

Installing plugins on it can be a little odd, but there's a good explanation here once you've downloaded the program. And you can go on the forums to find more plugins.

On an unrelated note, If I ever get around to continuing that CCG idea I had a while back, it'd probably be tested on LackeyCCG.

So, anyone up for a game?

SDM has us using Redshark for PTCG (which I have to update, heh), though maybe I'll try this out.

And yeah don't expect me to leave MWS to play magicks. >_>

I've tried RedShark, and RedShark is definetly superior playability wise. It just tracks things all electronically and less like cards on a table.

But LackeyCCG has PRETTY PICTURES.

So you can see why I chose one over the other. >_>

EDIT: Also because being able to play other CCGs is always a plus.

Yeah Lackey is pretty pro for being able to run multiple games, but MWS is infinitely more pro >_>

On saying that I much prefer Lackey for pogeymons over Redshark, its just easier to see what youre doing with Lackeym particularly with deck building
Did you not think I had a mind?

Ah, yeah, I didn't care much for Redshark's deckbuilding, that's true.

OK, I think this topic should be expanded a bit ... I know a bunch of you play Magic; I've wanted to try, but have no idea what this MWS thing is.  Plus the fact that I only have ever played one TCG and it wasn't exactly popular.

magicworkstation.com for the program, mwsgames.com for the database.

If you're interested in learning I can send you links and/or give you tutorial(s).

Lackey or Redshark? And allowed sets so I know what to build around.

Otherwise just poke me on IRC or something. And not around 4 EDT today as I'm partaking in a magicks tournament on magic-league.
